Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman is pleased to announce that Corrections Sergeant Tara Shea graduated on August 8 from the Florida Leadership Academy, Class 60, hosted by the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute.
Sergeant Shea and other first-line supervisors attended four week-long sessions where the Florida Leadership Academy prepared them for future challenges and taught them the skills necessary to support the needs of their local agencies and communities. Developing the character and integrity required for criminal justice professionals is the focus of this exceptional training and is built around the qualities of efficient and effective leaders. Criminal justice agencies from all over the state were represented in this class.
“Preparing supervisors to serve and lead in their communities is the goal of the Florida Leadership Academy,“ said Sheriff Kurt A. Hoffman. “Supervisors in all areas of our agency must be effective and decisive leaders. This is where training makes a difference.”
