This year, we’ve already seen a wave of unconventional animal prints enter the fashion sphere (looking at you, deer print). But fashion month has proven we’re not done taking inspiration from the animal kingdom just yet. At Chanel, for instance, metamorphosis was the inspiration behind the collection, with bright, critter-like patterns adorning garments. Balmain was struck with jungle fever, sending tiger stripes, leopard spots and zebra print down the runway. A long way from their natural habitat on the runways of Paris: fitting, given that fashion’s animal print obsession is carving out new territory.
