The woman decided to give one of her rooms a modern look as she transformed it into her home office.

In her viral video, TikTok user Ashley (@mrsashleyfrench) amassed 2.1 million views as well as creating an internet debate.
She filmed the process as she renovated her space to create a home office.
For her first step, she removed a “huge mirror” that took up an entire wall in the room.
Ashley revealed that numerous people advised her not take take it down as it is worth a lot of money.
However, it did not fit into her vision so she and her partner removed it, explaining that “the joke was on us”.
“Behind the mirrors was an old ugly wallpaper mural and tonnes of black adhesive that was holding the mirrors up,” she explained.
The DIY expert showed her audience the colourful stencil underneath the mirrors.
She then filmed the process of peeling the wallpaper and adding a coat of primer.
For the colour of the office, Ashley opted for a “moody dark blue”.
She also installed new custom cabinets and added a beadboard accent wall and new sockets.
For the final touch, they installed a statement gold overhead light feature.
“Our new office was complete, now this room will actually be used,” Ashley said as she showed off the finished look.
TikTok users were divided on the renovation project, sharing their thoughts in the comments section.
“‘Ugly wallpaper mural’ is criminal,” wrote one unimpressed viewer.
“Ripping off that wallpaper is a crime,” agreed another horrified follower.
“She literally murdered the love that room held with that wallpaper mural,” commented a third person.
“No, they millennialfied it,” said another TikTok user.
On the other hand, some viewers jumped to defend the transformation, with one writing: “OK, y’all are dramatic, they didn’t ruin the room this was an upgrade.”
“This looks so good and the mural was dated and damaged by the mirror,” pointed out another commenter.
One TikTok user added that “modern is better” in the comments section.
