Hasbro has reportedly shut down one of its internal video game development studios (under the banner Wizards Of The Coast) for reasons that remain undisclosed. At the time of its closure, the studio was actively developing the long-awaited G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes AAA video game.
The news initially surfaced after one of the studio’s lead developers shared an ‘Open to Work’ post on LinkedIn, signaling the unexpected shutdown. Technology news outlet WCCFTech was the first to report on the development, bringing wider attention to the situation.
In response, Hasbro issued a clarification stating that despite the dissolution of the studio, there has been no decision to cancel the G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes project. The company noted that it is currently taking time to “evaluate the path forward” and assured fans that further updates will be shared in due course.
