Letter from Jess

Dear Team,

Jess Doty

I hope you all had an opportunity over spring break to engage in practices that support your well-being. Taking time to recharge is essential, and I appreciate all the ways you balance caring for yourselves while continuing to show up so fully for our students, staff and each other.

I also want to extend my gratitude for a positive and engaging all-staff meeting. Your questions and feedback are invaluable, and I appreciate the thoughtful insights shared. Many of you expressed a desire for more time to ask questions and opportunities to connect informally with colleagues across the division. We hear you, and we’ll explore ways to incorporate these elements into future meetings.

Additionally, I continue to hear feedback about the need for new and improved communication across the Division of Health and Wellness. In the coming months, we will be exploring ways to enhance how we share information and stay connected. If you have any ideas, please feel free to share them with me directly—I would love to hear your thoughts.

Looking ahead, I am excited to continue expanding on the Mental Health initiative communicated by Chancellor Schwartz. This initiative will be a crucial step in enhancing our commitment to student well-being and move us toward becoming a JED campus. Health and Wellness will play an integral role in this multi-year process, and I look forward to partnering with our team and the broader campus community to move this work forward.

Thank you for the work you do every day. This team is truly exceptional in its dedication to caring for others, and the impact you make does not go unnoticed. I am grateful to be on this journey with you.

With appreciation, Jess
