Huskies Head For Regionals At Pacific

SEATTLE – One of the key tournaments of the fall season, the ITA Northwest Regional Championships, takes the Husky men’s tennis team back to California for a third week in a row. Pacific hosts the six-day tournament in Stockton, Calif. as all six Huskies will make the trip for the first time this fall.
 
Qualifying singles play begins on Thursday, Oct. 16, with three Huskies looking to advance into the 64-player main draw. Brett Pearon, Nikola Plavsic, and Daniel Bien will all start play on Thursday.
 
The main draw will begin Friday, with three Huskies already entered: Soham Purohit, Rohan Belday, and Stephane Kamendje. Purohit is the No. 8 overall seed in the main draw.
 
The doubles draw will also start on Friday and features three Husky duos. Belday and Kamendje will team up, as will Plavsic and Bien, and Pearson and Purohit. Pearson and Purohit are the No. 5 seed.
 
On the line at Regionals are bids to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, which for the second year of a trial run are being held at the end of the fall.
