
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man charged with making alleged terroristic threats towards several political figures was recently indicted.
Michael Sigmon, 66, of Charleston was indicted on charges of terrorist threats and obscene, anonymous; as well as harassing and threatening communications by computer, cellphones and electronic communication devices on June 12, according to court documents.

Sigmon allegedly threatened to kill President Donald Trump and West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey in October 2025, according to court records.
West Virginia State Police troopers said they received a complaint about violent threats against government officials on Oct. 12, 2025. Investigators said the threats, allegedly made by Sigmon on social media, involved graphic descriptions including “beheading.”
According to WVSP, Sigmon also posted threats on a volunteer submission form for the West Virginia Mountain Party.
Additionally, investigators said Sigmon made threats to murder local police officers.
Sigmon is set to be arraigned on July 7.
