A man accused of sending explicit messages and planning to meet a girl he believed was 15 years old during an undercover operation was arrested in Miami on Saturday, authorities said.

Ricardo Javier Mitchell, 62, was charged with commercial sexual human trafficking, luring a child to engage in sexual conduct, and attempted sexual performance by a child, Miami-Dade jail records showed.

According to authorities, on Saturday, Mitchell was sending messages to a girl who told him she was 15 years old.

An arrest report said Mitchell would send the girl explicit messages and said he would pay for videos and pictures of her, and would even pay for her college tuition every time she got an A in school.

At one point in their conversations, Mitchell said he would pick her up at an undisclosed location within Miami, the report said. He asked the girl to change into a skirt, and he would drive her to a store to buy a sex toy, and they would go to a room that he planned on renting.

Before they agreed to meet, the girl told him several times that she was 15, but Mitchell continued to tell her that he was interested in picking her up, paying her and engaging in sexual activity, the report said.

When Mitchell arrived at the location where the two agreed to meet, authorities conducted a felony stop, and he was detained, the report said.

During his detainment, the report said, Mitchell’s phone was taken, and his car was searched, and detectives found $400 in loose currency, his wallet, and a Public Pharmacy bag that had two bottles of sildenafil, a 100mg tablet and one bottle of tadalafil.

The bottles had his name, and the label said to “take one tablet by mouth, one time daily as needed for sexual activity,” the report said.

Mitchell was then taken into custody.
