Before everyone was picked up from the airport we sat silently, when we stopped for lunch we started talking and getting to know each other a little bit. After the first night and proper introductions, everyone was able to connect! There were no real divides, just people that love the environment and want the same for others.
This common love of nature wasn’t only a starting point, but a strengthening force in the relationships we made. Everyone being so passionate and eager to learn become a positive feedback loop.
Outside of workshop hours we went out to enjoy the lands, fish, bird, play games, and do other activities together. We had fun together wherever we went, having in depth conversations. I am happy to have made connections with the other interns I hope to keep for a long time past this summer.
