DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – A 60-year-old Jacksonville man was killed Thursday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 at Interstate 295 in Duval County.
The crash occurred at around 11:40 a.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a red pickup truck was traveling westbound on I-10, just west of I-295, when the driver ran off the roadway to the right before veering back onto the interstate.
The pickup truck collided with a white sedan also traveling westbound. The red pickup then rolled over and traveled over the guardrail before coming to rest on the grass median between the westbound and eastbound lanes of I-10.
The driver of the red pickup died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report. A 28-year-old man, who was a passenger in the pickup, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle — a 32-year-old woman from Jonesboro, Georgia — was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Two children, ages 8 and 6, who were passengers in the SUV, were also transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Both children were wearing seatbelts.
