10 hurt, Tesla Cyber Truck split in half in Silver Spring multi-vehicle crash: Police

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Several people, including three children, were hospitalized after a truck collided with at least 10 vehicles in Silver Spring on Saturday, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD).

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded at 1:43 p.m. to reports of a multi-vehicle crash at Columbia Pike and Fairland Road.

Firefighters rescued several people who were trapped inside their vehicles, and photos from the scene showed a Tesla Cyber Truck that had been split in half during the collision.

Police said an initial investigation found that a moving truck lost control and struck several vehicles.

MCFRS said 18 people were evaluated, with 10 taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

According to firefighters, NB 29 at Musgrove Road was shut down temporarily but has since reopened.
