

Google has made some minor updates to the canonicalization help documents including the What is canonicalization and Fix canonicalization issues. I am not sure if anything fundamentally is different on the page outside of making it easier to understand and follow what the page is explaining, which is why I guess Google did not document the change over here.
The changes were made on Thursday, August 20th, but Friday was a busy day, so I am not covering it until now.
The Fix canonicalization issues page has most of the changes, where it updated the top of the page to really break it out more and make the help content more consumable. You can compare it to the old version here but here is a side-by-side on those changes:
