The UB Department of Music’s 2026–27 concert season is in the spotlight in Buffalo Rising, which highlights a year of performances by internationally recognized guest artists, UB faculty and student musicians.

The season brings together classical favorites, contemporary music and new works, with performances ranging from the UB Symphony Orchestra and student ensembles to visiting artists and UB’s Slee Sinfonietta. The article also highlights the department’s growing faculty and performances planned for its new immersive audio and media space in Slee Hall.

Department Chair Eric Huebner and faculty member Melissa White spoke with Buffalo Rising about creating a season that connects established and emerging artists with students and audiences. White will perform with the GRAMMY Award-winning Harlem Quartet as part of UB’s Beethoven cycle, while students will perform throughout the year in orchestral, chamber, choral, jazz and contemporary music programs.

With performances in Lippes Concert Hall, Baird Recital Hall and venues throughout Buffalo, the season offers students and the community many ways to experience live music at UB.
