WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) – A woman has been arrested after a missing girl was found in her closet.
According to the Woodland Park Police Department, 9-year-old Audrey Martinez was reported missing by her mother just after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
During early interaction with neighbors, officers said they came in contact with 38-year-old Christina Ann Guerrero.
According to police, Guerrero had several interactions with officers and allowed them to search her apartment, despite claiming that Martinez was not inside.
Police reportedly did not find the child in the apartment at that time.
After speaking with Martinez’s mother again, police reportedly began another door-to-door search.
Around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, CBI agents and officers went into the apartment and found the missing child unharmed in a bedroom closet.
Martinez has since been returned home.
Police said Guerrero was arrested for harboring a child and influencing public officials.
She was booked into the Teller County Jail.
