NEW YORK — Travel Weekly honored the winners of its 23rd annual Readers Choice Awards at a black-tie gala dinner and ceremony on Dec. 10 at the American Museum of Natural History here.
The award winners, one for each of the 92 categories, represent the best of the best in the travel industry. The nominees and award recipients were chosen in two rounds of voting by Travel Weekly’s audience of travel professionals.
The open ballot phase of the voting was conducted during the summer, and readers were invited to write in the names of any company they believe best exemplifies a particular category. The leading vote recipients were identified as finalists, and a second round of voting to determine the winners took place this fall. The finalists were featured in Travel Weekly on Dec. 1.
Travel Weekly also honored several industry executives with Lifetime Achievement Awards. This year’s recipients are Deborah Bush, founder and president, Avenue Two Travel; Roger Block, president, Travel Leaders Network; Craig Pavlus, founder and CEO, Pavlus Travel & Cruise; and Jack Richards, president and CEO, Pleasant Holidays. In addition, the Travel Weekly Sustainability Leadership Award was given to The Hawaiian Islands in recognition of its long-standing commitment to sustainable practices.
