The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has issued speed and vehicle restrictions on major roadways ahead of a winter storm that could drop up to 9 inches of snow in Lancaster County on Sunday.
Beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday, PennDOT officials say the following roadways will have Tier 1 vehicle restrictions:

I-76 entire length.
-
I-78 entire length.
-
I-80 from I-81 to New Jersey.
-
I-81 entire length.
-
I-83 entire length.
-
I-84 entire length.
-
I-95 entire length.
-
I-283 entire length.
-
I-295 entire length.
-
I-380 entire length.
-
I-476 entire length.
-
I-676 entire length.
-
Route 33 entire length.
-
U.S. 22 from I-78 to New Jersey.
-
PA Turnpike I-76 from Carlisle (Exit 226) to PA Turnpike I-276.
-
PA Turnpike I-276 entire length.
-
PA Turnpike Northeast Extension I-476 entire length.
Under Tier 1 travel restrictions, tractors without trailers or lightly loaded trailers, recreational vehicles, motorhomes, buses, motorcycles and unloaded box trucks are not permitted on roadways.
PennDOT officials say speed limits may be restricted to 45 mph while vehicle restrictions are in place. Additional restrictions could be put in place Sunday depending on the severity of the storm.
In their announcement ahead of the storm, state officials reminded drivers to use their headlights for the duration of the storm, keep windows and mirrors free of ice and increase following distance.
