FLORENCE, S.C. — An Amber Alert for a missing child in Florence County was canceled early Friday morning after the child was found safe, authorities confirmed.
The incident unfolded Thursday evening when the Florence Police Department received a report at about 8:53 p.m. from the child’s mother. She stated she had been shopping with the suspect, Macie Eaddy, at H&Y Beauty and Rose’s on South Irby Street.
According to the mother, Eaddy offered to take the child to the car while she finished shopping. When the mother exited the store into the parking lot she realized Eaddy had left with her child, according to a release from the Florence Police Department.
Authorities issued an Amber Alert and began searching for Eaddy, who was reported to be driving a white Mitsubishi Lancer with South Carolina temporary tags.
The search ended around 6:50 a.m. Friday when a community member found the child abandoned outside a home on Cale Yarborough Highway in Timmonsville. Police reported the child was in good health.
