Andrea K Reimagines Albanian Poetry Through Electronic Sound on “Don’t Remind Me (Mos Ma Kujto)”

Veteran DJ, producer, and label owner Andrea K Cappelletti brings together poetry, electronic music, and Albanian musical heritage on his latest release, Don’t Remind Me (Mos Ma Kujto), a striking interpretation of a poem by celebrated Albanian poet Dritëro Agolli.

The track transforms Agolli’s timeless words into a powerful contemporary production, blending modern electronic music with rock-inspired vocals and the unmistakable sound of the traditional Albanian chifteli. The result is a bold cross-cultural composition that bridges literary tradition and forward-thinking electronic sound design.

Musically, Don’t Remind Me (Mos Ma Kujto) is driven by a compelling contrast of intensity and emotion. Heavy, distorted synthesizers create a dense and energetic foundation reminiscent of hard rock and metal influences, while soaring female vocals provide a dramatic and cinematic focal point. Threaded throughout the production is a distinctive melodic motif inspired by Balkan and Albanian musical traditions. The melody evokes the bright, metallic character of traditional stringed instruments, adding a strong cultural identity to the track while maintaining its contemporary electronic edge.

Andrea K is no stranger to musical experimentation. With more than four decades of experience as a DJ and producer, he has built an international career performing across Italy, Switzerland, Tunisia, and Brazil. Since 2014, he has also led the independent K-Noiz label, supporting innovative electronic music projects and collaborations.

The significance of Don’t Remind Me (Mos Ma Kujto) extends beyond its musical ambition. The track was specially created for the prestigious Muse-X Festival in Albania and was selected as the opening piece for the festival’s inauguration ceremony. The event was attended by leading Albanian political representatives, cultural figures, and public authorities, giving the composition a prominent role in one of the country’s notable cultural celebrations.

By combining the words of one of Albania’s most respected poets with contemporary electronic production and traditional instrumentation, Andrea K delivers a work that feels both deeply rooted and unmistakably modern. Don’t Remind Me (Mos Ma Kujto) stands as an example of how cultural heritage can be reinterpreted for new audiences without losing its original spirit.

The single is now available on all major digital platforms.
