Atlanta airport set to open massive new parking deck next to terminal with more than 7,000 spaces

The new deck includes several technology upgrades and amenities designed to streamline parking and terminal access for travelers.

ATLANTA — Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is preparing to open a major new parking expansion aimed at easing congestion and improving the traveler experience ahead of the busy summer travel season.

Airport officials announced the new South Red Deck will officially open June 1, adding more than 7,000 parking spaces at the world’s busiest airport.

The new deck includes several technology upgrades and amenities designed to streamline parking and terminal access for travelers. Features include ticketless entry and exit systems, more than 100 electric vehicle charging stations, premium parking options and direct access to airport terminals.

Officials said the expansion is part of broader efforts to improve efficiency and accommodate growing passenger demand at ATL.

The South Red Deck is expected to provide additional convenience for travelers navigating crowded airport parking areas, particularly during peak travel periods.

Airport leaders also promoted the project as another addition to the airport’s “ParkATL” parking system, which offers multiple on-site parking options for passengers flying through Atlanta.
