BOY SODA has released a new single, “Elements”, the latest preview of his upcoming Soulstar Deluxe project.
Alongside previously released single “Chase Your Tail”, “Elements” is one of five new tracks set to appear on the expanded edition of his acclaimed debut album, due out June 19th via Warner Music Australia.
The rising R&B star – who recently featured in our Future of Music 2026 list – teamed up with producer MXXWLL for the song, someone he had long hoped to work with. The song blends warm, sample-driven production with the singer’s signature mix of vulnerability and groove.
“‘Elements’ was one of the first songs me and MXXWLL made together and finding that sample feel was somewhere I really wanted to go sonically so it was a perfect link up, he’s incredible and someone I’ve wanted to create with for a long time,” BOY SODA said.
“The song itself is an ode to circumstances and moments where you want something to flow and work but your life is leading you in a different direction,” he continued. “There’s equal parts light and shade in those situations so in the end it’s all up to divine timing in my opinion.”
BOY SODA’s debut album, Soulstar, arrived in 2025 as a bold 13-track statement: a genre-blurring journey through love, grief, celebration, self-discovery, and the work of breaking old patterns. “This is the story of me and how I think and love at 27,” he told Rolling Stone AU/NZ. “Soulstar expresses that with emotional truth.”
It features the funky R&B single “Lil’ Obsession”, which became a breakout moment – it racked up millions of streams worldwide and secured his first ARIA Award, taking home Best Soul/R&B Release last year. Its success carried into a sold-out debut album tour, followed by the 2026 ‘Lil’ Obsession’ tour across Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney.
