The mining practices Fortune will employ are designed to be minimally intrusive and the Company is ensuring the land is returned as close as possible to the state it was found or otherwise improved.An example of this commitment is the planned constructed wetland treatment system as part of the Closure and Reclamation Strategy for the NICO Project. Fortune is working with environmental and industry consultants who specialize in remediation using constructed wetlands to enhance the performance of natural, existing microbes for a sustainable treatment option. The strategy involves stimulating the natural existing environmental and local microbes to extract metals from water seepage though the Company’s planned co-disposal facility. A pilot-scale wetland treatment system was constructed to validate the technology and provide information for selecting the most suitable series of treatment steps for subsequent piloting and optimization and will be followed by a demonstration scale wetland before the permanent facilities are constructed.
