this iconic launchpad mashup was recorded on-the-fly by french producer Hugo Pierre Leclercq AKA Madeon, when he was just seventeen years old, using samples from 39 songs he really liked. It’s been doing the rounds on TikTok, as mashups have recaptured the zeitgeist.
Daft Punk was a major influence on Leclercq & he was very inspired by their live shows in creating Pop Culture. Even though he was only 17 years old at the time, Madeon was already making a name for himself via stellar remixes of Pendulum’s “The Island (Pt. 1),” deadmau5’s “Raise Your Weapon,” and Yelle’s “Que veux-tu,” among others.
