EVERYONE in the house and senate agreed! That never happens. Every single person, House and Senate, voted YES on the e-bike safety bill. Unanimous. No one disagreed.
THEN DESANTIS VETOS THE THING⁉️
The bill did three simple things:
1️⃣ Designated a max speed of 10mph near pedestrians.
2️⃣ Made police track crashes so we’d finally have real numbers.
3️⃣ It created a task force to study the problem and come back with answers.
Desantis said Friday, “Do we really want to have policing of e-bikes, and are you going 10 miles [per hour] or 8 miles [per hour] or whatever and it’s just, I think, it was a little bit of an overreach.”
Call me crazy @flgovrondesantis but seeing that 5 people lost their life in Lake County alone, 13 year old 4 weeks ago in Orange County, and then a police officer came within feet of running over a kid two weeks ago I’d say it’s WORTH IT!
This was a mistake! Ohh and before I hear it from ya all I can think for myself. I don’t agree with Democrats or Republicans. It’s okay to appreciate the work someone does in office and disagree with them. Think for yourself.
