Japan unveils new immigration plan focused on tighter regulations

Technology Connectz2 weeks ago5 Views

Japan has unveiled its new basic plan for immigration control and residency management, outlining measures aimed at tightening rule enforcement and cracking down on violations.

The latest plan, announced Friday, comes as the number of foreign residents reaches record levels, while Japan faces a shrinking population, labor shortages and intensifying international competition for skilled workers.

The new plan is expected to guide government policy for roughly the next five years, although there is no legally fixed review period, according to Immigration Services Agency (ISA) officials.
