Pedestrian struck by 2 vehicles, killed after running onto Florida Turnpike in Orange County, FHP says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 30-year-old Hollywood man was killed after running onto the Florida Turnpike in Orange County and being struck by two vehicles, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 9 p.m. Saturday in the area of mile marker 251 (State Road 417), troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the man had begun running east from the wood line and entered the southbound lanes of the Turnpike when he was struck by two southbound vehicles which he had entered the direct path of in the inside lane.

The man was struck first by a 2021 Toyota Highlander and then by a 2016 Chevy Silverado, the report states.

Both vehicles remained at the scene and none of their occupants were injured in the crash, troopers said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.

FHP is still investigating.
