In this position…
- You will be directly supporting Ford’s In-Use Compliance team to conduct regulatory emissions testing on customer vehicles, submit data to the agencies, and lead root cause investigations with our calibration teams.
- You will collaborate with our procurement and testing partners to address challenges with testing customer vehicles as well as working with our IT teams on enhancements to improve data flow.
What you’ll do…
- Coordinate planning, testing and administration of Ford’s in-use emissions verification program (IUVP):
- Assist mechanic with inspection, instrumentation and preparation of test vehicles as needed
- Submit test requests, track scheduling of vehicles, assist during testing process as needed
- Collaborate with VEV and the garage to resolve testing issues related to challenges testing customer vehicles testing success.
- Identify and implement process improvements with collaboration from IT, GDIA, and vendors.
- Validate test results and submit data to the Ford and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reporting databases
- Track and report IUVP emissions exceedances to EPA and the California Air Resources Board (CARB)
- Support creation and presentation of material for reviews with the agencies
- Support EPA and CARB in-use surveillance testing on as needed basis
- Facilitate reviews with management and calibration in support of root cause exceedance investigations and in-use confirmatory programs (IUCP) as required.
You’ll have…
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to tailpipe and evaporative emissions testing desired
- Familiarity with common automation and analysis tools (e.g. Excel Macros, Mini-Tab, Power BI, AI) and IT systems development process desired
- Strong technical and oral communication skills including development of management presentations
- Understanding of statistical concepts and techniques desired
- Ability to interact effectively with senior management and other organizations including government agencies
- Experience managing complex projects and familiarity with Project Management tools
- Self-starter, ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision and strong record of delivering results

This position is a salary grade 5-8 and ranges from $65,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate’s skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
