A suspect was arrested on Tuesday after leading officers on a chase in Miramar before he was captured in Miami Lakes, authorities said.
According to Miramar Police, officers found a vehicle of interest in the area of County Line Road and Northwest 69th Avenue.
When officers tried to do a traffic stop, the driver didn’t comply and sped off.
During the chase, officers stopped pursuing the driver for safety reasons and teamed up with other law enforcement.
The suspect’s vehicle was eventually stopped in Miami Lakes, and the driver fled on foot but was then arrested.
They are being charged with fleeing and eluding.
Their identity and the reason for the initial traffic stop were not released.
An investigation is underway.
