Upstate earns place on Epic Honor Roll | Upstate News

Upstate Medical University has been named to the national Epic Honor Roll in recognition of its strategy in using the electronic medical record system.

Upstate received an Honor Roll distinction on the Epic Version 6 Honor Roll Good Maintenance Grant Program, at the cum laude level. This marks Upstate’s fifth time on Epic Honor Roll, underscoring the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in its Epic implementation.

Of the more than 400 healthcare institutions using Epic, only 43 have earned this designation, placing Upstate among the top 10 percent of performers in the nation. The honor includes a $205,755 grant from Epic.

The Epic Honor Roll Good Maintenance Grant Program, established in 2017, is a recognition program that highlights exceptional use of strategies, lessons learned, and best practices distilled from Epic’s extensive experience in serving well-respected healthcare organizations. Participation in this program enables healthcare providers to attain continuous improvements in patient outcomes, quality of care, workflow efficiency, and financial performance.

The program is based on eight components: ease of use for providers, enterprise data and analytics, financial, health information exchange, infrastructure stability and performance, patient experience, population health, and staying current with Epic’s latest features.
