JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A semitruck driver fatally hit a woman in the Love’s Travel Stop parking lot in Baldwin on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, just before 7:30 p.m., the woman was walking in the Love’s parking lot at the U.S. 301 and Interstate 10 exchange.
The semi driver was making a turn, and JSO said the driver did not see the woman, causing the fatal crash.
She died on the scene.
This makes the 124th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 31st incident involving a pedestrian.
The semi driver was cooperating with the investigation.
