The Crisafulli Government is delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy by backing Queensland’s rapidly growing games development industry.

Brisbane studio Gameloft has unveiled Bluey’s Happy Snaps – the latest video game featuring the global megastar and her family.

The game is yet another success story for the Queensland industry after Labor’s decade of decline failed to harness the potential of the sector.

The Crisafulli Government is delivering targeted investment to support more than 300 jobs for Queensland games developers which will add $23 million dollars to the sector’s economic impact.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates said having Queensland developers behind Bluey’s Happy Snaps showed how strong the State’s games industry has become.

“Bluey is a Queensland icon and one of the most famous Queenslanders in the world, so to have a local studio entrusted to deliver her latest video game is a huge vote of confidence,” Minister Bates said.

“Queensland is quickly becoming a leading hub for video games development and it’s fantastic to see our creativity on display on the world stage.

“The Crisafulli government will keep delivering the support our video games industry needs so that Queensland talent can keep exporting their games to the world.

“Queensland is open for business, and a growing video games sector means jobs in future focused industries and high value exports.”

Minister for the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said Queensland-made games are gaining global attention and our state’s reputation is growing as a worldwide hub for digital games development.

“Under the Crisafulli Government, Queensland’s digital games sector is leading the way - building the jobs of tomorrow, today,” Minister Langbroek said.

If you are unfamiliar with the story, the show follows the lives of beings who live in our computer networks called sprites. They live in cities, have jobs and do their best to not get infected by the menacing local viruses. Occasionally the user of their computer will play a game which drops a “game cube” into their city. The characters will enter these games to try and beat the user because a loss will result in fragmentation of the sector the cube landed in. #evildead #reboot #EvilDeadBurn
