Women’s Golf Places Ninth at Golfweek Spring Challenge

PAWLEY’S ISLAND, S.C. — The Missouri State women’s golf team closed out the three-day Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge on Wednesday (Apr. 8) by moving up two spots and finishing ninth in the 19-team field.  The Bears posted 301-299-303–903 in three trips around the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in their final outing before the Conference USA Championship in two weeks.

Junior Coyee Zhang was the top finisher for MoState, carding 73-76-72–221 to place in a tie for 13th, one shot better than teammate Kiser Pannier, who finished 18th after shooting 71-71-80–222. Freshman Chloe Bolte improved a stroke each, tying for 38th with 77-76-75–228, while junior Kyleigh Pfitzner tallied 81-76-76–233 to tie for 58th. Junior Tierney Baumstark shot 80-80-80–240 and tied for 79th.

Middle Tennessee claimed the team championship with an 876 total, three better than Coastal Carolina and five in front of Samford.

MSU is idle next week before the Energy Transfer Conference USA Championship, Apr. 20-22 in Frisco, Texas.
