In this list, we’ve put together a smaller selection of PS5 and PS4 games we recommend.
Each title has at least a 7/10 from Push Square, and they’re all at their lowest price points, with some lower in this sale than ever before.

11-11: Memories Retold is an immersive, beautiful, and emotionally charged game. It’s at its best when it functions as a playable film, with you making the major decisions. Where it falls down is in its clunky gameplay and story beats that are locked behind secret item collection. However, the strong celebrity performances and engaging story more than make up for this and create a really unique experience that is both thought provoking and enjoyable. As the subtlest World War game ever made, there’s nothing more appropriate to play to commemorate the signing of the Armistice.

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition is a wonderful example of modernising a classic game, providing new quality of life features and a fresh coat of paint while retaining its original feel. For hardcore RTS fans who are itching to pick something new up this is a must buy, and an adaptable AI difficulty level means there’s something for everyone.

Remedy Entertainment has followed up on the beloved Alan Wake with a more-than-worthy sequel. Alan Wake 2 goes all-in on survival horror, but it also goes all-in on Remedy’s particular brand of weird, blending live action with gameplay, taking unexpected turns, and making lots of creative risks. The result is an atmospheric, unpredictable, and fascinating game of two halves. Whether you’re playing as Saga Anderson in the real world or Alan in the dark place, it remains captivating throughout — and looks incredible to boot.

Anger Foot is an aggressive action game that feels like a sort of first-person Hotline Miami. This rapid-paced experience is all about kicking down doors and destroying groups of enemies in quick succession, using your feet and all manner of weaponry at your disposal. With colourful visuals and a pulse-pounding soundtrack, this comes recommended for anyone looking for some violent, high-speed thrills.

Another Crab’s Treasure is a refreshingly different take on the soulslike action RPG. Its more lighthearted presentation, stronger emphasis on story, and sense of humour don’t take away from the genre’s core, however — this is equally a stern, challenging adventure with fun combat to master and lots of secrets to discover. Despite some technical flaws, though, it’s a very enjoyable adventure that’s tougher than it looks.

Arcade Paradise starts out as a relatively derivative simulator-type title, but it blossoms into a brilliant tycoon. As you slowly expand your laundromat into an arcade, you’ll uncover all kinds of genuinely entertaining minigames. With a hearty mix of management and retro gaming goodness, this is one of the more addictive indies in quite some time.

Ball X Pit is a dangerously addictive roguelite that combines the speedy runs and rapid leveling up of Vampire Survivors with the ball-bouncing action of Breakout. It’s one of those concepts that’ll make you question why a game like it hasn’t been done before, because it works brilliantly. Every element of the game feeds into something else, and the result is this incredibly compelling game that has a surprising amount to see and do.

A true cult classic, Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition is a lovely remaster of a PS2 favourite. Playing as freedom fighter Jade, this unique sci-fi adventure has you exploring a weird and wonderful world through the lens of her camera. The remaster brings the visuals up to date and throws in some quality-of-life improvements, but the main reason to play this is for the great story and characters, which remain fresh and charming to this day.

The spiritual successor to FromSoftware’s supremely popular Dark Souls property, Bloodborne fuses the lip-smackingly satisfying combat of its predecessors with a frighteningly fast pace, resulting in the most intense action on the PS4. Harrowing Lovecraftian-like fiends and larger-than-life bosses vie for the attention of your Saw Blade, as the dingy districts of Yharnam intertwine. A steep difficulty curve can make this occasionally putrid escapade appear off-putting, but soldier through the skin and sinew and you’ll find a bloodbath worth submerging in.

Crash Bandicoot is one of PlayStation’s most iconic platforming heroes, and now that he’s double-jumped onto PS5, there’s no excuse for skipping Crash Bandicoot: It’s About Time. This sequel stays true to the series’ origins, but it’s bursting with brand new ideas and jaw-dropping set-piece moments. Running at a flawless 60 frames-per-second in sparkling 4K resolution — and cutting those load times to almost nothing — this release is at its absolute best on Sony’s next-gen console.

Some say there are too many Metroidvania games for this world, yet when one as good as Crypt Custodian comes along, it serves as a reminder of exactly why so many developers chase that addictive fusion of explorative action. With shades of Death’s Door and Tunic, brotherly duo Kyle and Eric Thompson have made an approachable yet exceedingly enjoyable adventure full of combat, platforming, puzzles, and charm.

While so many interactive dramas cheat, Detroit: Become Human is the most adaptable narrative ever conceived. Lead characters can die in the opening hours of the story, and that’s the last you’ll see of them for the remainder of the campaign. The robotic revolution plotline can be a bit heavy-handed, but as with all Quantic Dream games, there are some real high-points that will stick with you long after the credits roll.

Certainly, unless I am wrong about it based on PSPrices.com, Nioh 3 deserves a spot on this list for being 20% off

With how hard Capcom has balled lately, think I might pick up Dragon's Dogma II now.

Always funny when Bloodborne is like £7.99 but Dark Souls 3 is £22 and Sekiro £29.99. Why…Bandai and Acti why…Got Sekiro long time though, I just don’t get the high price till now.

Definitely need pick up BallXPit. Also definitely need to finish Pragmata. And Nioh 3. And Shadow of the Erdtree.

Never really much for me in these sales. Once in a while, but not often. Most of it is stuff that people that have been in the PS ecosystem for at least a semi-decent amount of time already have and/or a lot of the same things that were in the last sale, and the sale before that, and the sale before that, and…

@Orochilocka DI2 Ultimate Edition was in the last sale too for the same price. Glad you got to pick it up though.

@Orochilocka I could be mistaken but I think standard edition is currently included with PS+? Either way, you’re 100% correct. The ultimate edition for sure is a great price right now for those that want all of the dlc. Edit: Definitive Edition of the first game is also on sale for $2.99 for those who haven’t played the first and might want to. Or, the Definitive Collection that includes the first game, all DLC, and Riptide for $4.49.

A game I've had on my wishlist for several years is finally on sale (last time was almost 5 years ago!) – at a new all-time low price to boot! If you haven't added it to your digital library yet, Ultra Street Fighter IV (PS4) is finally on sale, and only $3.99!
