North Bay police say no threat to student safety after social media rumors

North Bay Police Service issued an information alert shortly before 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

“North Bay police has received multiple calls in regards to information being spread on social media in relation to the safety of students attending school on Friday,” the information alert stated.

“The North Bay police has investigated the allegation and assures the public there is no concern for the safety of any students attending school.”

The Nugget also received numerous messages from parents inquiring whether police had informed the media of increased police presence.
