How do you recover from the death of a beloved vocalist? It’s a question many bands have had to face, and fewer have managed to satisfyingly answer. So when Power Trip frontman Riley Gale passed away in August 2020 it was immense blow to a band who’d only just begun to really hit their stride.

In the wake of Riley’s passing, the band were nominated for a Grammy for Best Metal Performance for a live rendition of Executioner’s Tax – surely one of the best pure-blooded metal songs of the 21st Century – but for a while it looked like that might be it.
