Family offering $5,000 reward for missing Ky. teen

ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – It’s the second week in the search for 13-year-old Wynter Wagoner in Rockcastle County.

The family is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who gives them information that leads to her safely returning.

“I find it very out of place for her to go especially this long without talking to her family,” Dusty Wagoner, Wynter’s dad says.

“She knows that we care for her deeply and we’d do anything for her, you know just the fact that she’s not even reached out, especially to me, is very concerning,” he says.

Family members say Wynter was last seen in Orlando, Kentucky at her foster family’s house on October 14th around 6:15 to 6:30pm.

We don’t have an exact address, we just know she was last seen in Orlando.

“She was out there with the foster parents and they said they had picked her up from school that day, but she had told kids in school that she had planned on running away,” Dusty says.

He tells us while he was in jail, Wynter’s mom had gotten into some trouble and that’s why Wynter was at the foster home. But he says Wynter told him she didn’t want to stay there.

“Just homesick, is what I feel like. She never gave me any specific reason because she’s always claimed that they were very good to her and from what I’ve seen they’ve always been very good to her. They took care of her, they took her in at a bad time in her life,” Dusty says.

The night she went missing, Wynter’s dad tells us she was messaging her cousin about running off to Florida.

The last text she sent, she told cousin that “she had loved her, that she had to get off and then she wrote her back and she said, ‘I love you’ and the foster dad said he checked on her like 15 or 20 minutes after that and she was just gone. Nowhere to be seen,” he says.

Dusty tells us the foster family checked their trail cameras and neighbors checked their ring door bells, but nobody saw anything.

“She would have to have known somebody. I don’t believe a 13-year-old girl would just up and be gone for 10 days and not know somebody that’s picked her up,” he says.

Dusty says he and his family are searching for any information. Even if it seems like it may not be important.

“We just want to know that she’s safe. If nothing else, Wynnie just, please, if you can hear me, just call me and let me know that you’re safe. Even if you won’t tell me where you are ‘cause it’s

killing the family and we love you so much,” he says.

Dusty says he’s learned Wynter has access to a second phone number. He’s asking anyone who knows what that number is to come forward.
