Anime continued its rise in mainstream entertainment, with its growing global popularity helping fuel interest in conventions like Laval Comiccon.

Music and live performances highlight weekend
One of the weekend’s featured attractions was the KPOP LIVE HOMAGE show, which performed high-energy renditions of songs from KPop Demon Hunters in both French and English.
The group performed twice during the weekend, with shows on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon, drawing steady crowds.
Fans also had the opportunity to take part in the HUNTRIX EXPERIENCE, which offered meet-and-greets, autographs and photo opportunities.

Guests meet fans on the floor
The convention also welcomed a range of guests, including actor and stunt performer Mathieu Coderre, known for Scream, and actor Benz Antoine, known for roles in Overwatch, 19-2 and Saint-Pierre. Quebec content creator Polo also met fans and showcased his work throughout the weekend.
Across the floor, more than 100 retailers and artists offered comics, manga, collectibles, artwork and pop culture merchandise.

Gaming, music and cosplay competitions
Retro gaming setups from Retro MTL drew steady crowds, featuring titles from the Nintendo 64, GameCube and Wii eras, while Amusement LOL offered classic arcade games such as Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat and Pac-Man. D&D MTL also hosted tabletop gaming sessions throughout the weekend.
The Orchestre à vents de musiques de films (OVMF) performed live arrangements of music from franchises including Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon.
Cosplayers took centre stage during the Masquerade competition on Saturday, while younger participants showcased their costumes in a kids’ contest on Sunday. Throughout the weekend, attendees also encountered cosplay groups including the 501st Legion and Klingon Assault Group.
