Located just down the street from LSU, local coffee bar Puravida brings a tropical vibe to students and locals and gives them a chance to study, hang out, or express their creativity.
Victoria Arroyl; owner of Puravida, knows that creating a spot that looks good and accepts everyone is one key to a successful business.
“I believe that we have gained an image of a place that anyone can come too,” says Arroyl. “You can stay as long as you like. You can come and be inspired by your surroundings and it’s just a place where creatives can come.”
Arroyl says that she’s sees an increase in foot traffic when they post content and that it’s obvious when they have missed a post that week.
Elle Dorsey, is an content creator and employee at Puravida. She makes lifestyle content to post on her TikTok that has over 60,000 followers. Dorsey knows that when dealing with a younger generation–such as herself– social media is an important asset to keep a business thriving.
“Yeah, I think that definitely it’s important to market and use social media,” says Dorsey. “Especially in 2026 because that is where all the young people are going and that’s going to bring you in the most business. Especially being at LSU, that’s where all the young people are going to be seeing businesses.”
Her coworker; Caroline Lawler who started making content for Puravida a month ago, believes that their are key tips for making content that will make people want to show up.
“I think humor and being in touch with real authentic content is really important especially for people college age–Gen Z,” says Lawler. “I think people are looking for really authentic content that they can resonate with. I think you can have a good mix of like aesthetic content.”
Now, in 2026, social media has become the world’s largest advertising channel and content creating has proved to be a useful tool in helping businesses
