Miley’s “Bass Persuades”: Watch Video for New Single
Miley’s new era has begun: “Bass Persuades,” the title track and lead single off her upcoming new album, is out now.
Bass Persuades, Miley’s 10th album, will arrive on September 18th via Atlantic Records. It’s her first release since last year’s Something Beautiful, as well as her first project since dropping “Cyrus” from her stage name. Miley will support her new album with a pair of special headlining shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 16th and 18th. Tickets will go on sale for the general public next Friday, September 11th, at 10:00 a.m. PST via Ticketmaster.
“Bass Persuades” may be the lead single for her new album, but it’s technically Miley’s second new song of 2026; she previously offered the new song “Younger You” as Hannah Montana for her recent Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special.

A noticeable shift from her last album, the new track still sounds and looks quite familiar. Whereas the teaser she recently shared bears striking similarities to PJ Harvey’s iconic “This Is Love” music video (it may even be a homage), the Bass Persuades title track and its accompanying video immediately bring Madonna to mind. Built on tried-and-tested formulas of modern pop, this may indeed be a new era for Miley, but perhaps not for music.
