CHARLESTON, S.C. (Aug. 12, 2026) – MUSC Health and Cigna have reached an agreement to extend their current network participation agreement through June 30, 2027.

The extension means that MUSC Health physicians, hospitals and other covered services will remain in-network for patients enrolled in Cigna plans included in the agreement. Patients may continue receiving care from their MUSC Health providers without interruption, including access to MUSC Health’s hospitals, clinics and specialized services across South Carolina.

As South Carolina’s leading academic health system, MUSC Health provides a broad range of advanced and highly specialized services, including transplant care, trauma services, cancer treatment, pediatric subspecialty care and high-risk maternal-fetal medicine. Patients enrolled in applicable Cigna plans may continue to access these services through their existing in-network coverage.

No action is required at this time. Patients are encouraged to confirm their specific benefits and network coverage directly with Cigna by calling the number on the back of their insurance card.

MUSC Health will continue to work closely with Cigna to support patient access to high-quality care throughout the agreement.
