5 Decorating Trends You’ll See Everywhere This Summer

Wondering what design trends will be making major waves this summer? We spoke with interior designers across the country and asked them to weigh in with the styles they believe will take the decorating world by storm in the coming months. (Psst: If you’re a color lover who isn’t afraid to go bold, this is definitely going to be your season.) Without further ado, here’s what will dominate interior design in summer 2025.

Mismatched Vintage Finds

Whether you’re staying nearby or traveling far away, take some time to scour the flea markets this summer. Vintage finds, particularly mismatched glasses and ceramics, will be all the rage in homes, says interior designer Isabella Patrick. In this space, Patrick styled hand-painted polka dot ceramics she sourced in the South of France with other colorful vessels from her travels.

Layered Neutrals

Elissa Hall, the founder of EDH Interiors, shares that “layered, earthy neutrals and textures” will continue to reign supreme into the summer months and beyond.

“There’s something grounding about using materials like wood, stone, and linen, and leaning into warm, natural tones in burl wood and oak adds comfort,” she says. The designer appreciates the calming qualities these materials convey. “I am welcoming calm and simplicity into all of my spaces in 2025,” she adds.

Soothing Blue and Bold Chartreuse

This summer, allow two hues in particular to take center stage. “A fresh trend for summer 2025 is the rise of soft blues and chartreuse accents as unexpected yet grounding neutrals,” says Marie Cloud, the founder of Indigo Pruitt Design Studio.

You can’t go wrong with either of these shades, which also happen to look fabulous together. “Pale blue brings a cooling, serene contrast to bold interiors, while chartreuse injects energy and warmth,” Cloud explains.

Maximalist Gallery Walls

The gallery wall isn’t going anywhere, confirms interior designer Danielle Balanis. “Collect local, vibrant art you love, and pair it together for an impactful statement wall, hallway, or stairwell,” she suggests. “There is a lot of power and punch in pairings of similar things.”

The designer is all for encouraging people to display what speaks to them personally, as opposed to sticking to what’s expected or trending. As she puts it, “Buy what you love, and love what you buy.”

Playful Tile Patterns

This summer, don’t shy away from vibrant hues when it comes to tile. “Say goodbye to white subway tiles and hello to playful patterns in unexpected colors,” encourages Jennifer Jones, the founder of Niche Interiors. “Installing graphic tiles on vanity and shower walls will provide the most impact in a space.”
