The Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, in partnership with Education WithOut Borders, will feature a night of live hip-hop featuring some of the most compelling artists in the region.

The 503 Rising Hip Hop Showcase is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the center, 12625 S.W. Crescent St.

Hosted by MC Mic Crenshaw, the evening will feature The Neighborhood Kids, Talilo, Swiggle Mandela, Majik9, DJ O.G.ONE, DJ Lady X and more.

“I like to be inspired by, and in community with artists that make me want to be better at what I do,” Crenshaw said in a statement. “I love writing lyrics, performing, bringing people together, making great songs that people will want to hear and recite. Each artist on this bill is the embodiment of that energy.”

A recording artist, political activist and educator, Crenshaw has produced or recorded more than 10 albums over the last two decades.

Further praising the upcoming hip-hop lineup, Crenshaw said: “Swiggle, Talilo and Majik are artists with global appeal who happen to live in Portland. Neighborhood Kids truly share a perspective with me and some of my favorite poets, writers, musicians and revolutionaries. Their music is timely and necessary.”

Tickets are $25. Visit shorturl.at/aBfkV for more information.
