When asked by TN Sen. Jeff Yarbro (D-Nashville) why the House-passed congressional map “treat the Black democrats in Memphis, Tennessee, different than the white democrats” in the district, Sen. John Stevens (R-Huntingdon) said, “the map was drawn to maximize the Republican chances to win nine congressional districts in the upcoming midterm elections.”
