Mario Kart World adds SNES courses and Knockout Tour routes in a free update – nintendo.com

Meet the characters:
A free update is available now for the Mario Kart™ World game! Ver. 1.8.0 lets players select courses inspired by the original Super Mario Kart game in certain modes, as well as adds two new Knockout Tour routes.

Keen-eyed Free Roam players may have noticed that certain parts of the world look an awful lot like classic courses from the original Super Mario Kart game. With this free update, you can now select these as actual courses to race on in VS Race and Online Play modes!
A total of 10 courses are being added to these modes, including Choco Island, Vanilla Lake, and Ghost Valley.
Just like in Super Mario Kart, you can pick up items by driving over ? Panels.
Knockout Tour is a mode where players race nonstop across the vast world from one end to the other. The race begins with 24 players, but checkpoints appear along the route. Players who fail to pass a checkpoint within the required ranking are eliminated.
This update adds two new: Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally.
A route connecting Acorn Heights and Airship Fortress.
A route connecting DK Pass and Shy Guy Bazaar.
The new routes become available after clearing at least one Knockout Tour Rally. Additional Knockout Tour routes are planned to be added through future updates.
When playing in groups via Online Play or LAN Play, Spectator Mode is now available.
As the name suggests, Spectator Mode allows players who have joined the group to spectate races and battles without participating. While spectating, players can freely change which player to look at and check real-time standings at any time.
With this update, the maximum number of participants in a group has increased to 26, making it possible, for example, for 24 players to race while 2 others spectate. (Note that this does not increase the total number of drivers in a race.)
When taking photos using Photo Mode from the pause menu, players can now apply filters. Find your favorite filter and create your own unique photos.
