SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Northern Illinois enters Sunday at 1-5-2 on the season, and 0-2 in Horizon League play. The Huskies are losers of their last three in a row and four of their last five, with their lone win on the season coming against Northern Iowa on August 23.
HISTORY VS. NORTHERN ILLINOIS
Sunday will mark the eighth all-time meeting between Wright State and Northern Illinois, a series that is all tied at 3-3-1.
LAST TIME OUT
The Raiders scored three first-half goals and remained unbeaten in Horizon League play with a 3-1 victory over IU Indy on Thursday night at Carroll Stadium.
Wright State wasted little time getting on the board as Olivia Stroud opened the scoring in the sixth minute. Ruby Dunlevy delivered the assist as Stroud found the back of the net for her first goal of the season.
The Raiders doubled their lead in the 27th minute when Taliah Pellizzari scored her first goal of the season. Dunlevy once again provided the assist, recording her second helper of the night.
Wright State added one more goal before halftime as Makenzie Chinn found the back of the net in the 43rd minute. Mia Fiore was credited with the assist as the Raiders carried a 3-0 advantage into the locker room.
The Jaguars increased their pressure in the second half and broke through in the 78th minute when Maci Sammons scored off assists from Madeline Chappa and Keilah Muldrow. The Raiders, however, limited IU Indy to just one goal and closed out the conference road victory.
Leigha Lauer earned the win in net, recording two saves while playing all 90 minutes for Wright State.
In the box score, Wright State recorded eight shots on goal and held a 14-15 deficit in total shots. The Raiders trailed IU Indy in corner kick opportunities (5-4) while posting a 52-48 advantage in possession percentage. Dunlevy led Wright State with two assists, while Stroud, Pellizzari and Chinn each scored a goal.
#HLWSOC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Wright State sophomore goalkeeper Leigha Lauer has been named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Monday.
Lauer recorded her second shutout of the season in Saturday’s conference-opening win over Robert Morris. Lauer started and played all 90 minutes in between the posts for the Raiders, recording six saves.
Lauer picks up her second weekly award after being named the HL Defensive Player of the Week on August 17.
ALL-LEAGUE RETURNEES
Wright State returns a pair of All-League performers from a season ago. Caitlin Burger returns for the Raiders in midfield after earning All-League First Team honors in 2025. Burger led Wright State with 12 points and five goals, while finishing second in assists with four. Kaitlyn Eyink returns for the Raiders after picking up All-League Third Team honors last season. Eyink played and started 19 games in defense for the Raiders, totaling 1486 minutes.
LAST SEASON REWIND
Wright State finished 2025 with a 7-7-5 overall record and a 4-1-5 mark in Horizon League play, making the Horizon League Championship Quarterfinal before falling to Green Bay 3-1.

Wright State welcomes eight newcomers – including seven freshmen – to this season’s roster. The Raiders’ 26-player roster includes seven freshmen, six sophomores, three juniors, and 10 seniors.
