  • Despite a hard-fought effort, Maryland ultimately fell 3-1 to the Buckeyes (8-2-6, 4-1-5 B1G) at home last Sunday. 
  • Maryland struck first as Kelsey Smith netted her team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 30th minute, giving the Terps an early 1-0 advantage.
  • Lisa McIntyre provided the assist, her third on the year.

New Leadership

  • Maryland’s six wins this season mark its best total in a year since going 9-8-3 in 2019.
  • The Terrapins are 6-11 under head coach Michael Marchiano in 2025, winning three consecutive matches for the first time since Sept. 3-10 2023. All three of those wins also came in shutout fashion. 
  • Michael Marchiano was officially named head coach of the Maryland women’s soccer program in December 2024 after serving as interim head coach during the latter part of the 2024 season. A Maryland alumnus and two-time national champion as a midfielder for the Terps in 2005 and 2008.
  • Marchiano also spent time working with the Maryland men’s soccer program as an assistant coach in November 2023, contributing to a 34-9-3 record and back-to-back NCAA Quarterfinal runs. His connections to Maryland athletics run deep, reflecting his long-standing history with the Terrapins.

  • Symone Jenson has logged 158 minutes and 19 seconds in her Terp career, appearing in 9 games.
  • Eva Mowery has logged 755 minutes and 57 seconds in her career, appearing in 29 games and recording 7 total shots.
