HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Hawai’i duo of Emily Heintzelman and Sydney Miller wrapped up play at the 2025 AVCA Pairs National Championship with a pair of wins on Sunday at the John Hunt Park Volleyball Complex in Huntsville, Ala.
The tandem defeated duos from Jacksonville University and UT Martin to capture the 57th consolation bracket. Heintzelman and Miller swept Hayden Garnett and Meredith Mrukowski of Jacksonville, 21-16, 21-16, in the first match of the day, before taking down Reagan McGee and Riley Rushing of UT Martin.
After dropping its first three matches of the three-day event, the UH duo finished strong with a trio of wins to even their record (3-3) for the weekend.
Heintzelman and Miller will next join the rest of the BeachBows as they travel to Lihue for the Kauai Invitational, Nov. 21-23. The third edition of the event will see Hawai’i face off against Arizona State and Big West nemesis Cal Poly at Kalapaki Beach. The weekend will not only feature pairs competition but also community outreach on the Garden Isle
