Softball Signs Second Ever Idaho Native, Carly Jones, for 2026-27

SEATTLE — Washington head coach Heather Tarr has welcomed Carly Jones to the Husky softball program. Jones is set to join the Dawgs in the fall of 2026.

Jones becomes the fifth future Husky to sign for 2026-27, joining Lucy Ford, Shea Gonzalez, Grazia Mazzola and Brooklyn Paratore.

CARLY JONES

Idaho Falls, Idaho | Thunder Ridge H.S. | NW Bullets | RHP

A 5’10 right-handed pitcher from Idaho Falls, Idaho, Jones played for NW Bullets.

Just the second ever Husky to come from Idaho, Jones played at Thunder Ridge High School.

Her favorite softball memory was when she got the opportunity to play with her two sisters in a game.

“My sister got to catch for me with my other one at third. It was a lasting moment that I cherish to this day.”

Jones plans to study biology while at Washington.

WHY WASHINGTON?

“When I got injured, Washington stuck by my side. They believed in me when I did not believe in myself. I walked in after my injury and had a gut feeling that this is where my next journey had to be. The coaches, the players, and the atmosphere just felt so right to me.”

COACH TARR ON CARLY

“Carly’s ability to command the upper part of the strike zone with velocity is what immediately stands out. She’ll be just our second Husky to come from Idaho, following in the footsteps of Casey Stangel, and she brings with her the strength of a large, supportive family. We’re excited to see how high her ceiling can be as she begins her collegiate journey.”
