Closures on NCC parkways, driveways and…

There will be several closures from Friday, May 22 to Sunday, May 24, 2026, as part of the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. As a result of this event, the NCC Weekend Bikedays program will be suspended on both days. 

The Gatineau Park shuttle route will be modified on Sunday, May 24.

The pathways adjacent to the locations listed below are not affected by the closures.  

Friday, May 22, 2026

  • Queen Elizabeth Driveway from Somerset Street West to Laurier Avenue
    • 8 am on Friday, May 22, to 8 pm on Sunday, May 24
  • Lawrence Freiman Lane and Laurier Avenue east off-ramp and access to the NAC
    • 8 am on Friday, May 22, to 8 pm on Sunday, May 24

Saturday, May 23, 2026

  • Colonel By Drive from Daly Avenue to Hawthorne Avenue
  • Colonel By Drive from Hawthorne Avenue to Bronson Avenue
  • Pretoria Bridge
  • Queen Elizabeth Driveway from Somerset Street West to Elgin Street
  • Queen Elizabeth Driveway from Elgin Street to Preston Street

Sunday, May 24, 2026

  • The Gatineau Park Shuttle will not stop at Pīndigen Park or the Canadian Museum of History. It will start and end at the Montcalm stop.
  • Queen Elizabeth Driveway from Elgin Street to Somerset Street West
  • Queen Elizabeth Driveway from Elgin Street to Preston Street
  • Colonel By Drive from Rideau Street to Hog’s Back Road (includes Bronson off-ramps)
  • Pretoria Bridge
  • Kichi Zībī Mīkan from Vimy Place to Island Park Drive
  • Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway from Princess Avenue to Birch Avenue
  • Princess Avenue from Sussex Drive to Lisgar Road
