Fighting Illini set for Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah

MEDINAH, Ill. – The Fighting Illini are to compete at the Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah at the Medinah Country Club. The tournament will be held from Monday, October 6, to Tuesday, October 7.

THE SETTING

Just west outside of Chicago, Medinah Country Club is one of the most prominent private country clubs in the country. Established in 1924 by a group of Shriners, Medinah Country Club features three world-class golf courses, all originally designed by the renowned golf course architect Tom Bendelow. The course is set up for a par 72 and 6,166 yards. 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

This 54-hole stroke play event will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Monday begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT, and Monday follows the same pattern, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT. 

THE FIELD

Along with the Illini, this 15-team field features Alabama, Auburn, Augusta, Central Florida, Charleston, Illinois State, Indiana, LSU, Michigan, Minnesota, San Diego State, SMU, Texas Tech, and Wisconsin.

ILLINI AT THE ILLINI INVITATIONAL AT MEDINAH

This will be the seventh time Illinois has hosted the Illini Invitational at Medinah. Most recently, the Illini finished 11th in 2024. The Orange and Blue’s best finish at this event was 3rd in 2018 and 2019.
