Kacey Musgraves managed to keep her cool as a small fire broke out on stage at her latest Middle of Nowhere Tour stop.
On Saturday, the 8x Grammy winner continued her set as the blaze burned far above her head, seemingly after ignited by pyrotechnics during Musgraves’ “Golden Hour” performance.
“That looks bad,” she said in video from the show. “Genuinely, something’s on fire.”
Musgraves joked, “I have way too much hairspray to be standing under that shit.”
The “Don’t Do Me Good” artist continued working the stage while keeping an eye on the flame. “Anyway, just pretend,” she said while introducing another song. “Anyway, I found myself spending a lot of time alone in the making of this album, and I didn’t like spending a lot of time alone. It gives me anxiety.”
“So does that,” quipped Musgraves about the fire.
After releasing her seventh studio album Middle of Nowhere in May, Musgraves embarked on the accompanying tour last weekend in Chicago. Musgraves next stop is set for NYC’s Madison Square Garden on Monday and Tuesday.
